A Park Built on a Runway
Parque Tangamanga II opened in 1985 on the site of San Luis Potosí's original municipal airport. When the state relocated the airport to its current location on the Mexico City highway, the old runway and terminal apron were reclaimed as an urban green space dedicated to sport and recreation. The long, flat geometry of the former runway made it ideal for running loops, cycling circuits, and an auto racing track — features that define Tangamanga II's identity to this day.
